The Kirksville Housing Authority would like to thank the students that participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Challenge, not only those who visited the housing authority, but those that made an impact community-wide.  It was wonderful to have 10 Truman students join up with Kyle Horst, Deputy Director of KHA, to host a computer class for tenants of Village '76.

The computer class was the first collaborative effort between TSU and KHA where several tenants learned about browsing the internet, using Microsoft Word, and starting an email account.  After the students' presentations, students helped individuals with specific questions or problems.  Meanwhile, Kyle and students discussed opportunities for fundraising an early childhood education center, further collaborations, and even a mahjong group.
